The 16 relays are addressed as two 8-bit ports. The contacts are rated 6 A at 120 Vac or 28 Vdc resistive. The CIO-RELAY16 also includes a protective cover (not shown).
A 50-pin header connector provides access to all contacts. It uses standard 0.10" spacing designed to mate with insulation displacement connectors and ribbon cables.
Outputs
Sixteen form C relays provide output control for up to 28 Vdc or 120 Vac (50 to 1000 Hz).
Form C relays (SPDT) have 3 contacts (Normally Open, Common, Normally Closed). The center contact (common) may make contact with either of the other two.
Base Address
The base address of the board is controlled by an 8 position DIP switch which provides access to all of the PCs I/O address space. In general the base address is set to 300 Hex. The CIO-RELAY16 occupies 2 I/O addresses.
SOFTWARE
Optional software drivers, called UNIV-DRVR, are available for programming in both DOS, Windows 3.1 & Windows 95. DOS support includes QuickBasic 4.5, Visual Basic, Turbo C, Visual C++, Microsoft C and Quick C. Windows support includes Microsoft C, Visual C++, Visual Basic, Borland C, and C++. Labview drivers are also available. (requires UNIV-DRVR)
